CleanSpace Encapsulation and SaniDry Installed in Chagrin Falls, OH

Challenge

Homeowners in Chagrin Falls, OH contacted Cleveland Basement Systems because they realized their crawl space needed repaired and upgraded. To start, there was an old tarp covering the dirt floor and spray foam in between the cracks they attempted to fill. Water stains were present on the cinderblocks, which is a telltale sign of leakage. In addition, they had to lay traps because mice had infested the space.

Solution

Bert, one our expert inspectors, visited the home for a free estimate and examined the area thoroughly. Using his hygrometer, which measures moisture in the air, he measured the relative humidity at 81.7%! Humidity this high will cause damage such as mold, wood rot and unwanted odors. He determined the customer would benefit greatly from having a full CleanSpace encapsulation system installed, as well as a SaniDry Humidifier. The customer was set up with an install date and the project got underway!

Installers stripped the old tarp and prepped the walls and floors for the CleanSpace drainage matting and encapsulation covering. The drainage matting will move any water present to a drain or sump pump so that it does not sit stagnate and cause damage. Then, they secured the CleanSpace to the walls and floors which will not rip as well as keep out humidity, water, and pests! Lastly, they put in a SaniDry dehumidifier. This self-draining, energy efficient product will keep that relative humidity level low.

The customer can now rest assured that his crawl space, and entire home, is healthier and protected!
