Challenge
This customer called in concerned about the lack of insulation in the crawlspace. When the inspector from Cleveland Basement Systems arrived, he quickly felt how humid and musty the crawlspace was. He measured the relative humidity and found that it was at a whopping 82%! Anything above 60% is considered a danger to your home. High moisture levels can cause wood rot to structural beams, mold growth and it can leak into the home, creating an uncomfortable environment.
Solution
The inspector addressed these issues and wrote up a detailed and reliable quote to install the CleanSpace Encapsulation System. The installers then came in and cleared out all debris to begin setting down the barrier. They first laid the CleanSpace Drainage Matting down against the soil. This allows any water to drain away from the crawlspace. Then, a reflective barrier was installed on all the block walls to insulate the crawlspace. Finally, installers rolled out the thick and durable CleanSpace system and fasted it to the floor and walls. This created a sealed-tight, clean and bright solution that will now protect this space from issues like moisture, mold and pests.
