A customer in Twinsburg, OH complained of cold, sagging floors with cracks in the walls. He believed that the crawl space was having settling issues. He called Cleveland Basement Systems and was set up with a no-hassle estimate.
Bert, the inspector, went down into the crawl space to examine the customer's concerns. The floors above the crawl space were bouncy and there were cracks on the walls. Additionally, he noticed the joists of the crawl space were sagging and needed SmartJacks to lift them up. SmartJacks are steel piers that are strong enough to hold and raise settling floors back to the proper level.
Bert then noticed an immense spider infestation in the crawl space. These creepy crawly bugs swarm to moist areas. Therefore, this customer's crawl space had high humidity levels that were attracting pests and also damaging the wooden beams. He suggested CleanSpace encapsulation and SilverGlo be installed to help rid of water and increase the insulation in the crawl space. SilverGlo would be installed first to the walls of the crawlspace. This stiff, reflective barrier would allow heat to stay in the crawl space and keep out any outside air. Further, CleanSpace is a thick pool-liner type product that fully covers the walls and floors of a crawl space. It acts as a catch-all of any water that may enter the crawl space and directs it to a sump pump. This helps eliminate high humidity levels and water damage.
